Bhumika Shah is Project Director with over two decades of experience in leadership and nonprofit management, Bhumika plays a key role in guiding Crypto(graphy)Harlem’s diverse programs, including educational event series, internship opportunities for young people, and mentorship programs for adults transitioning into cybersecurity careers. Her strategic approach and technical expertise ensure the successful execution of our programs, Bhumika is known for her ability to build strong partnerships and engage with local organizations and community leaders. Sarah Aoun is a Lebanese activist and human rights technologist. Currently, she is the Chief Technologist at the Open Technology Fund, an organization that funds projects focused on countering censorship and surveillance, and on advancing internet freedom. For the past several years, she has worked with activists, journalists, and high-risk communities on security and privacy. She has given numerous trainings on operational and digital security, and has worked with several groups and NGOs to set up organizational security practices. She was also a Ford-Mozilla Open Web Fellow (2017-2018), an Internet Freedom Fellow (2016-2017), an advisor to the Internet Freedom Festival, the Human Rights Foundation, and Global Journalist Security, and currently sits on the advisory council of Reset.
